Charity News

9th October 2020

Thank you for your support with our charity fundraising events in Term 1.
We are really grateful for your support and on behalf of the charities that have benefitted this term we say a huge thank you.
Young Minds #HelloYellow
At a time when it is needed most, schools and organisations came together for #HelloYellow to support young people’s mental health on World Mental Health Day.
It was wonderful to see a ray of yellow throughout the school and we raised £142 for the Young Minds Charity.
Macmillan Coffee Morning
Thank you for all of your wonderful cakes and donations. We raised a wonderful £325 for Macmillan Cancer Support. An organisation that is very close to the heart of St John's C of E Academy and community.
The Forest Foodbank
As part of our Harvest Celebrations this year we have collected food donations for our local Foodbank.
The Forest Foodbank is a project founded by local churches and community groups, working together towards stopping hunger in our local area. On Saturday 26th January 2013 was the date of the launch for The Forest Foodbank  which took place in Coleford’s Main Place and was declared open by the mayor of Coleford. With the success of the Forest Foodbank distrubution centre in Coleford we were proud to open two new distribution centres, Cinderford in June 2013 & Lydney in October 2013.
We are still collecting and if you would like to donate some food, please bring it into the school office.
