Wider Opening 29th June

23rd June 2020

22nd June 2020

Dear Parents,

The government has indicated that we can now look at bringing back more groups into school, so long as we have available space, staff and budget to safely accommodate them in accordance with the current social distancing and health and safety guidelines.

To clarify, in order to do this safely we have taken the following into account:

  • Staff availability
  • Staff PPA (which is statutory)
  • A safe number of children for the room (maximum 15)
  • Maintaining adequate social distance safety arrangements for staff working within their groups
  • Having the ability to clean the room thoroughly between groups (we plan to use Wednesdays for this).
  • Ensuring appropriate cover during Break and Lunch Time
  • Maintaining the ‘Soft Start’ arrangements at the beginning of the day
  • Lunches – staff cover: We will provide a packed lunch for Free School Meals children all other children are to bring their own packed lunch and drinks bottle.
  • End of the day – siblings to be collected at 3:00; remainder at 3:15.

This also has an impact to the provision that we are providing to those children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 6 who will now be able to attend school on a Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.

Following consultation with parents on the wider opening of schools, I am pleased to share with you our plans for welcoming back more pupils from Monday 29th June until Friday 17th July.

If you have requested a place you will receive an email from school stating if your child is in Group A or Group B. We look forward to welcoming your child back into school.

All parents and children will need to sign a Covid 19 Home/School Agreement.

For those children who are not in school we hope that you are safe and well and look forward to seeing you all when schools return to normal; hopefully in September.

Yours faithfully

Pam Howell
