Welcome Back

4th January 2021

Welcome Back
We look forward to welcoming everyone back to school on Monday 4th January.
As you are all aware Gloucestershire has been placed into Tier 4 as cases continue to rise.
Please help us to continue to make St John's Church of England Academy a safe environment by keeping to the drop off and pick up times, wearing masks whilst on the school site, keeping 2m apart and not grouping together whilst waiting for your children.
All the Governors at St. John's Church of England Academy, work very hard, voluntarily, to ensure our School continues to serve the whole school community, at a consistently high level.
We say goodbye and thank you to Bishop David who has retired as Chair of Governors after many years of loyal service to education and St John's C of E Academy leading the governors from an Interim Governing Board to a Local Governing Board.
We welcome our new Chair of Governors Mr Tony Griffiths who has vast experience in Education being an ex Headteacher and currently Link Tutor for the University of Gloucestershire.
We thank the Governors for all their continued hard work and support for the school, and look forward to continuing to working together through 2021.
Internet Safety
As your children become more and more reliant on the Internet for both school work and entertainment, we must all, as a community, be more aware for the need to monitor the sites your child visits.
In school, through classroom activities and discussion; including at the end of Term 2 having Internet Safety talks given by the police; we highlight positive uses of technology, but also ways in which we can all keep safe through responsible use of the internet, our mobile phones and social media.
At home you can ensure the security systems on your computers, tablets and mobiles are up to date and also, please talk to your child about the dangers of accessing unfamiliar sites, and not giving out personal details and passwords.
