Term 6

15th June 2021

Term 6 Welcome
I hope you all enjoyed a lovely half term break and the recently improved weather.
The children have returned happily and quickly settled back into school routines this week.
I cannot express strongly enough how impressed we all continue to be with the enthusiasm, positivity and care shown by the children of St John's Academy; their manners, positive behaviours and attitudes are a credit to the whole community.
We hope that the recent warmer weather continues and that the children can continue to enjoy lots of time outdoors. Please ensure your child has sun-cream applied before coming to school, has a suitable sunhat and water bottle in school each day.
Covid-19 control measures
In light of the announcement from the Prime Minister yesterday there have been no significant changes to the guidance for school settings relating to the Covid-19 pandemic. All of our existing control measures therefore remain in place and we are grateful to our school community for their ongoing support and vigilance. Should changes be made to the guidance for schools, we will keep you informed, but as it stands at present we will not be hosting any school events for parents ie school sports day.
Term time absences
We are receiving a number of requests for term time absences. Please note that we are only allowed to authorise absences from school under exceptional circumstances. Whilst we appreciate the current challenges of arranging family holidays, we are unable to authorise absences for holidays during term time.
