“This is a good school. The quality of care, guidance and support is now outstanding and this results in pupils feeling extremely safe and secure in school. Pupils say they enjoy lessons because of the interesting and varied activities planned for them. Parents say “Should we have a problem, the school will be happy to deal with it”. Pupils are developing extremely well into thoughtful and considerate young people. An important provision, in response to parental need, is the successful before and after school club.
The school choir participated in the Young Voices concert at the Genting Arena, NEC Birmingham on Wednesday, 13th January 2016. Here is a link to the highlights:
Red, White and Blue Day
On Friday, 9th October 2015 we celebrated Red, White and Blue Day. During the day each class helped to paint the Union Jack on the school playground. We also had a street party lunch with fish and chips!
I have been living in the Forest of Dean for the past 5 years having moved here from the Oxford area for work. My family moved down some 3 ½ years ago and we have a child in his final year at St John’s.
Towards the beginning of this year I became a parent governor and currently sit on the finance and HR committees. I find it very rewarding being part of the school community.
For a living I work for a company called Logoplaste. We manufacture plastic bottles for the Ribena and Lucozade brand here in Coleford. My role within Logoplaste has changed within the past year from being a production technician to my current position as a trainer; I have also gained a NEBOSH qualification in supervision and management.
Outside of work I avidly follow motor sport and am a keen cyclist.
